About Saint Paul, Minnesota:
Saint Paul is the capital of Minnesota and the 2nd largest city in Minnesota after Minneapolis. Some would describe it as the cultural little brother to it’s hip nightlife big brother Minneapolis. Saint Paul lies on the North bank of the Mississippi river just downstream from where the Mississippi and Minnesota rivers come together. With just 287,000 residents (from the 2000 census) it serves as the county seat for Ramsey county.
Saint Paul was named the capital of the “Minnesota Territory” back in 1849. It’s named after St. Paul’s Cathedral in Ireland. Although sleepier than its bold western brother, Minneapolis, Saint Paul is home to the Xcel Energy Center and the Minnesota Wild Hockey team. It also serves as the cultural center of the Twin Cities as it is home to Science Museum of Minnesota, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Saint Paul Children’s museum, and many more cultural locations.
